This week was a big one for little CRANKENSTEIN.
He had lots of ads running in Publisher’s Weekly (heehaw!), We were hard at work making the book trailer for his big August debut, and the amazing illustrator, Dan Santat and I got to discuss the making of the monster in a PW KidCast.
Just when it seemed like it couldn’t possibly get any bigger, an amazing article came out from BOOK-ISH (love them) about Monsters in Literature that Really Aren’t So Scary After All.
Here’s the link:
http://www.bookish.com/articles/literary-monsters-that-arent-so-scary-after-all
The article contains some of my very favorite books, and some of my very favorite monsters.
Patrick McDonnell’s THE MONSTERS’ MONSTER, Mo Willems’ LEONARDO THE TERRIBLE MONSTER, and SESAME STREET’S THE MONSTER AT THE END OF THIS BOOK, just for starters.
When lo and behold….there was CRANKENSTEIN on that list.
What a monstrously huge honor to be included such company.
Seriously.
…sniff….I mean growl….
Seriously.
But let this be our little secret, okay?
Like, if you see Crankenstein, pretend he’s really, really SUPER-scary, alright?
Crankenstein *hates* it when you know he’s not really scary!
Thanks for reading, and mehhrrrrilly, monstrously yours,
