Just like the title suggests, it was indeed a big week in Berger Bookland.
On Monday, Publishers Weekly and Publishers Marketplace announced our *BIG* new book deal: The amaaaaazing Martha Brockenbrough and I will be co-authoring TWO new picture books for Arthur A. Levine!
Martha is an expert on Bigfoot.
I have big feet.
Arthur Levine is as big as it gets.
This was a collaboration BOUND to happen.
Martha and I celebrated by getting matching Bigfoot sweaters, and taking blurry photos of ourselves running through the woods.
Here’s the announcement.

On Monday eve, I was at the Books of Wonder Holiday Party, and then singing karaoke with Mike Curato, Ruth Chan, Caron Levis, Michael Buckley, Alison Fargis, and the great Paul Zelinsky. A great moment in children’s books.
On Tuesday, I found out my new book SNOOZEFEST (coming this January) made Buzzfeed’s 25 ABSURDLY DELIGHTFUL BOOKS TO READ WITH YOUR KIDS IN 2015 LIST! As Roger Daltry said, “YEAAAAAAAAAH!”

Some of my publishing pals are also on here like Debbie Ridpath Ohi, Greg Pizzoli, Sophie Blackall, and Scott Campbell. ALL the books look FANTASTIC.
On Wednesday, I met with my pals at Cause and Effect about making the Crankenstein Valentine book trailer.
On Thursday, SCBWI Team Captain, and all around swell guy, ran an interview with Dan Santat and me, about Crankenstein winning the Crystal Kite Award for NY. What an honor.
Here it is!

And then today…
The very first printed copy of A CRANKENSTEIN VALENTINE arrived on my doorstep.
There’s nothing like seeing your book in print for the very first time.
BEHOLD THE CRANKENGLORY!!
So any moment now, I will STOP talking about my own books!
…But maybe not this moment.
Thank you to everyone who supports my work and me.
It means the world.
